Campaign on Consent
Recently, I was asked by a friend to come up with a visual for a campaign on consent as the law concerning the latter is starting to change in the Netherlands.

Like most young women, I have been in the position where the lines of consent were blurred. We, often, think of consent as this very thick contrasted line, but in reality, things are more complex, intricate, emotional...

An intrusion can be either or both emotional and physical. I have, personally been victim of both.

In this series, I tried to capture not a victim but a survivor, a you or a me, someone like us, just going about their day. These may look like your casual instagram/influencer pictures you could see scrolling on the app but when you look closely, pay attention and listen, you will see that she has a story, scars imprinted on her skin forever. However this does not keep her from living her life, drinking, smoking, reading ... We often see victims being portrayed in these very contrasted environment, black backdrop, bent over, tortured. That is not what we have here. I wanted to portray another side of assault : The life after. It's not because it happened while you were drunk, or was wearing a dress that you cannot do any of these things anymore.

On my fantastic and creative model aka my friend Sam, I wrote my story. I consider this a memento. There is more than pain to life.
